Antibiotic producing organisms isolated from the White River Canal, Indianapolis, Indiana
Abstract
Although a number of antibiotic producing organisms have been isolated from soil, especially in recent years; little work has been reported on either microbial antagonisms or on the isolation of antibiotic producing organisms from water. A review of literature indicates that no specific antibiotic substance has been reported for microorganisms isolated from either fresh or salt water.
