During the school year of 1936-1937 I became intensely interested in the study of the Chivalry as brought out in Dr. Harrison's graduate course on The Arthurian Legend. I was curious to know how Sir Walter Scott, with some of whose novels and poems I was acquainted, had used the chivalric ideal in his work. Out of that curiosity grew the desire to study further the chivalric ideal and its relation to Scott. The result of my study of the past year is the survey following.
Remy, Margaret E., "The Chivalric Ideal in the Work of Sir Walter Scott" (1938). Graduate Thesis Collection. Paper 173.
