Abstract
The problem of the present study, that of playground safety, arose as a result of two conditions: first, numerous accidents on the playground of the Charles Major School, of which the author is principal; secondly, the observation that certain schools have completely abandoned the use of playground apparatus, the reasons generally given for such abandonment being frequence of injuries and damage suits against school officials resulting from these injuries.
