Abstract
This thesis is basad on a study of the marriage license applications for Madison County, Indiana. The principal years studied were 1899, 1814, 1929, 1937, and 1942. The aim of the writer is primarily to point out the marriage trends in Madison County rather than deal with the social effects which these trends may bring.
