Description

Workers in the helping profession can only truly be helpers if they themselves are working to their fullest potential. A consistent problem with workers in helping professions is high rates of compassion fatigue. If workers are experiencing compassion fatigue they are hindered from performing their duties as well as they could. Self-care is one way to combat the issue of compassion fatigue. This study will focus on the relationship between self-care practices and compassion fatigue in workers at a child family service agency in Indiana. Two survey's will be given to workers; one survey will address their self-care habits and the second survey will address compassion fatigue the workers may be experiencing. It is anticipated that there will be a significant positive relationship between self-care habits and compassion fatigue.
