Description

Every day, throughout the world, chemical dyes are being utilized in colored clothing, food coloring, as indicators, as well as many other uses. Throughout this research, the goal was to synthesize new triarylmethane dyes using a common reaction pathway. Substituted benzaldehyde substrates coupled with substituted aniline compounds were allowed to react to give a variety of new colored triarylmethane derivatives. To identify structure of these novel dyes, several spectroscopic techniques were employed.
