Description

Social Media is becoming an increasingly important part of the daily life for the average American. With this growing rise in popularity, it is important to also study how the media on social media stays in the minds of the readers. Twitter has already shown its disruptive social power through the 2016 election and Arab Spring. The goal of this study was to determine how well tweets would be remembered. To investigate this query, participants were asked to recall three different tweets. The responses were then scored with an Inter-Rater Reliability score of 92%. After analysis, we found that retelling of tweets had no effect on memory, and that tweets containing actions and information do not differ significantly in how well they are remembered.
