Abstract

Paul Dickinson's marvelous book Drunk: The Definitive Drinker's Dictionary (MelvilleHouse 2009), contains an amazing 2954 synonyms for the word "drunk", a considerable enlargement of the 228 terms listed by Benjamin Franklin in his 1737 Drinker's Dictionary. I celebrate its riches with the following bit of doggerel, written exclusively with his terminology.
