Abstract

In "What's In? A Name!", quizzes that have previously appeared in Word Ways, solvers were asked to reconstruct words from the letters that remained after names of individuals were removed from these words. Here's a new twist on that theme -- literally! Each of the thirty examples that follow represents the compression that results when a four-letter name, spelled right to left, has been erased from one of Webster's entries.
