A Tribute to Martin Gardner

Abstract

The most recent addition to my mathematics library is Here's Looking At Euclid (Free Press, 2010), written by a young British journalist, Alex Bellos. The first words of praise on the back of the dust jacket were written by Martin Gardner. It made me feel sad to realize that this is undoubtedly the last book to which Gardner paid tribute. It is certainly worthy o it because Bellos has a delightful writing style similar in many ways to that of Gardner.
