Abstract
As perhaps the single-most common inquiry in modern healthcare, the question, “Do you have any questions for the pharmacist?” represents not only an integral step in pharmacy workflow, but also an excellent opportunity for healthcare consumer education. Pharmacy counseling serves as arguably the most convenient, accessible avenue for the public to gain medication-related information in an ever-busying and demanding American healthcare culture. Unfortunately, no “one size fits all” approach to pharmacy counseling exists, and delivering meaningful, effective education requires acknowledgement of a variety of patient-specific factors. This article explores the utilization of Myers-Briggs Type Indicator test results to determine impactful pharmacy counseling techniques as related to dominant personality preferences.
