Abstract
This study evolved from the realization that there was a distressing need among high school students for tangible help in reading .
As a result of this, I enrolled in the Butler University course of Clinical Practice in Reading, under Dr . Townsend, for definite help in meeting this necessity. He inspired me to make a survey of reading difficulties and do some experimental remedial reading in the school at which I was teaching, Arsenal Technical Schools, Indianapolis, Indiana.
