Abstract
A caddie is a person who carries a golfer’s clubs and provides assistance during a round of golf. It is the job of a caddie to carry clubs, calculate yardages to the pin, rake bunkers and read greens. The role of the caddie has been shaped by the professional caddies seen on television carrying for PGA Tour and LPGA Tour players or in movies such as Caddyshack, Happy Gilmore and The Greatest Game Ever Played. Through the first-hand experience of a female caddie at a local country club, however, caddying is more than just the job itself. This thesis is an examination of personal relationships, human connection and the impact individuals have on the lives of others. It shares life lessons and stories learned on the golf course that extend beyond the fairways and are transferable to all individuals in any stage of life.
