Abstract
The aim of this thesis is to investigate the major differences between the Butler College of Education preparation program and the expectations of the Educative Teacher Performance Assessment or edTPA. Both Butler's College of Education and the edTPA focus on the incorporation of theories and research into conveying instructional methods, yet despite these fundamental similarities, there are some differences in how the content is taught and documented. Specifically, the goal of this study is to investigate pre-service teachers’ perceptions of similarities and differences between the edTPA and expectations of a teacher education program.
