Description
Abstract: The research I conducted examines the English Language Arts End of Course Assessment (ECA) test scores of English Language Learners. The English language learners attend the same high school, which may be described as a large public high school located in Indianapolis. The ECA test scores examine English Language Learners who are in tenth grade. The spans of test scores examined are from 2010-2014. The test scores consistently show that tenth grade English language learners do not pass the English ECA at significantly lower levels than non-English language learners. My research asks why English language learners are continuously not passing and looks at forms of preparation that English language learner teachers use to prepare students for the ECAs. It also looks at implications for future teachers and educators.
