Description
In this research, the authors measured the levels of sexual guilt between two groups of people on multiple levels, virgins and nonvirgins, by gender. The compared levels are according to religiosity, socialization, and views of virginity. Based on the sample size of college students, N = 364. College students (N=364) will complete a 34-item online survey of questions that measure guilt levels. Nine out of the twenty questions will be demographic questions, such as: age, ethnicity, religion, year, etc. The other questions will be done by both the use of a Likert scale and open-ended responses. We predict that females will produce more guilt compared to males after they lose their virginity. We also predict that a higher score of religiosity will produce higher feelings of guilt and more strict rules governing views of virginity which would produce higher levels of guilt as well.
