Description
The purpose of this study is to determine whether millennials are biased regarding gender and job performance/capability. The independent variable is gender. Two identical resumes (with the exception of names and gender) will be paired with an appropriate job description. The dependent variables are a series of job related characteristics such as competence, reliability, trustworthiness and appropriate compensation. Millennial participants will partake in a survey evaluating the suitability of the two resumes for the job description. They will decide how much the potential candidate should be paid, as well as evaluate their characteristics regarding job performance. An expected outcome of this study is that males will select lower compensation levels for the female resume than for the male resume. Similarly, a second expected outcome of this study is that males will rate females lower in terms of job performance/capacity.
