Description
In today’s society, it is important to feel safe within your own home. Further, to feel safe leaving your home for extended periods of time has come to be viewed as a coveted necessity. To this end, there exist numerous different products on the market which create this sense of security; these products, developed by companies such as SimpliSafe, ADT Security, Frontpoint, and Vivint, seek to integrate conventionally isolated systems into a single resource which may be remotely controlled by homeowners and authorized users via the worldwide web. This research project is focused on methods often underutilized by these companies which would enable full system integration for so-called, “smart home” security systems using resources such as Amazon's Alexa digital assistant.
