Description
Our prior work has suggested that inducing a state of mindfulness (i.e., the detached, non-judgmental witnessing of one’s thoughts, feelings, and sensations) through meditation increases creativity in the short-term. To extend and replicate prior work, the current experiment will be conducted in which participants will be randomly assigned to a brief mindfulness intervention exercise or to a control ‘sham’ meditation exercise, after which they will undertake several different types of creativity assessments. We predict the mindfulness group will produce more creative responses across the assessments.
