Description
In 1893, a young foster couple takes three children into their home—two boys and a girl. Shortly after the children arrive, strange events begin to take place, and the couple realizes the children have superpowers. These powers develop as a pre-puberty stage and lack control as those with the powers adjust to them. As the youngest child's powers begin to develop, the new family faces the issues of controlling the powers, but also the approaching presence of the children's older brother who is outside of the foster system and seeks to exploit his siblings for personal gain and revenge. Before long, the youngest child is kidnapped by the oldest brother and held for ransom at the Chicago World's Fair. The others rush to the Fair in hopes of rescuing their youngest family member, while learning about each other's strengths, weaknesses, what it means to be true to one another, and what it means to be a hero.
