Description
Due to the alarming number of both sex offenders and adult batterers in Grant County, Indiana, treatment is extremely crucial in rehabilitating these individuals in order to protect societies children. This quantitative research study looks at the significant differences between two distinct categories, the domestic violence batterers group and sex offenders group involved in Family Service Society, INC.'s (FSSI). Both groups will be given the Group Climate Questionnaire (GCQ). The GCQ will allow for a comparison of group climate between both offender populations. Group climate is examined because it is a determining factor in the outcome of treatment among individual members. The goal is to grasp a better understanding of how effective these programs are for both domestic batterer and sex offender groups within FFSI. The study focuses directly on the client's level of engagement, conflict, and avoidance during group therapy. The result will help in grasping a better understanding in client satisfaction levels, and may be utilized to help indicate the most efficient way to better serve the offender population in Grant County. Consequently, the results will assist in determining the best course of action for the members within these groups.
