Description
This study examines the relationship between Facebook use and different personality traits. Surveying students enrolled in psychology courses at Indiana University Kokomo, this study investigates if certain personality traits such as extraversion versus introversion can predict the amount of time and activity spent on Facebook (i.e. using chat, status updating, etc.). Previous studies have shown that the amount of time an individual spends on Facebook is positively correlated with extraversion. However, not many studies discussed the relationship social networking sites have in relation to introversion. I hypothesize that an individual who is more introverted does more activity and spends more time on Facebook compared to an individual who is more extraverted does more activity and spends more time on Facebook.
