Description

The purpose of this study is to look at the relationship between the frequency of drinking among college students, their likelihood of cheating, and their academic performance. There have been a number of studies conducted to examine the impact of drinking on students. Many of these studies have found that the frequency of college students' drinking can have an adverse effect on academic performance. However, few studies have examined cheating as it relates to drinking and academic performance. I want to examine if a student will consider cheating due to effects on academic performance created by drinking. This study used a survey administered to university students ranging in grade level and across different majors. I hypothesize that this study, similar to past ones, will find an inverse relationship between drinking and academic performance. In addition, it is expected there will be a positive relationship between drinking and cheating.
