Description
Similar to the incidental music scored for productions of William Shakespeare and Samuel Beckett, I will create incidental music, or a "score" to Craig Thompson's praised graphic novel, Blankets. Utilizing the editing software Photoshop and Final Cut Pro, I have pieced together the illustrations to create a film of the novel from which I explore themes of first love, identity, and religiousness through music representative of these ideas. In a performance setting, this film is projected on a screen while recorded voice actors read dialogue and anensemble plays the musical score, breathing an alternate life into the graphic novel.
