Description
The purpose of this study is to look at the effect of peer friendships on romantic relationships at a Christian University. Peer friendships characterize relationships with those one has daily contact with and whom they know, like, and trust. Romantic relationships characterize friendships that have a level of emotional attraction and intimacy. We will be doing surveys of those who are currently involved in romantic relationships and who have previously been involved in romantic relationships at Huntington University We expect that we will find a high correlation between peer influences and romantic relationships on our campus because the small size of Huntington University causes a higher level of intimacy between friends. Also, phrases such as "A ring before spring" cause increased pressure to date during college. We also believe that the Christian atmosphere has an effect on student's decisions to be more assertive with their opinions on their friends' relationships.
